Title:  Locomotive Switch Out
Description:  One of the engines crewmen gives hand signals to the engineer as Southern diesel locomotive number 2409 closes the distance to the excursion train. Before passengers can disembark the excursion train at the Chattanooga Choo Choo A switch out on locomotive power is necessary to move the excursion train onto the grounds of the former terminal station. After uncoupling from the excursion train. N & W J 611 moved to another location to take on water and coal for the return trip back to Birmingham. Seen here moving toward the parked excursion train is a diesel locomotive that is capable of negotiating the tight curves of trackage leading to the Choo Choo. Aboard the Norfolk Southern Birmingham-Chattanooga Steam Excursion Train, in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.
